Sonoma County has a park and campground here , very nice. It is in Bodega Bay, CA.
Stinson Beach is the first beach on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge, still close to San Francisco however.
I seem to take a lot of pictures of waves crashing into rocks, doesn't take much to entertain me...
The beach is owned by the National Park Service, which doesn't charge for parking here! What a nice change from the CA state beaches...
Along Hwy 1 north of San Francisco, there are thousands of spots like this with rough surf and rough coastline.
There is access to the beach off of Hwy 1 down below, before it climbs to the top of the coastal bluff where the overlook is.
We pulled over at one of the many scenic vista points to enjoy the view.
Actually, most of the beaches on this part of the coast are quite small and inaccessable. Much of the shoreline is rocky coast, but very beautiful.
California's coastal Highway 1 is considered one of the most scenic roads in the country. It is 88 miles from San Simeon to Monterrey of mostly rural, steep, rugged two lane road with frequent rock slides and washouts.
This was at the beach 3 miles north of San Simeon where the elephant seals were. Lots of tourists feed the squirrels, so they are quite accustomed to people.
Typical California Coastline vista, near San Simeon
This vista point is actually near San Simeon, just below Hearst Castle on the California Coast
Homes here are mostly over $1M each, even small ones.
A view of the bluff just north of our campground last night. The gap between the rocks was cut for the road (Hwy 1)
This is at the Gulf Shores National Seashore Visitors Center in Navarro, FL.
There are some condo's, golf clubs and mansions up here, but it's not as highly developed as farther south
This was the view from our table at lunch at the "Southernmost Cafe" in Key West, on the Southern side of the Island of course...
This was on one of the keys as we drove down Hwy 1 between Miami and Key West.
This is right next to the RV at Boyds RV Campground by Key West.
Boyds Campground has both Tent and RV sites along the water as well as across from the water.
Just one of many bridges between the Florida Keys along Hwy 1.
This was at the Miami Everglades Campground next to our RV site.
